Cubicle woes: office co-workers, does this ring a bell?

Have you been unlucky enough to share work space with a colleague who sometimes has you at your wits’ end?

Are you being subjected everyday to the aroma of food, feet or strong perfume emanating from their cubicles?

How does it feel to hear the minute details of their lives through the conversations and arguments they’ve had on the phone?

Or how about straining to hear your own conversations over someone’s rock music or paper shredder?

Do you find yourself intensely concentrating on an important report you’re typing, only to be interrupted by a chatty colleague who wants to share about the argument she’s had with her mother, or the big rock she finally got from her fiance?

How about gathering your thoughts for a presentation, but can’t seem to get some traction because of the guy next door peering in over the top of your cubicle wall every now and then?

You have our sympathy. All of us have been there at some point (hopefully, not as the offending party!).

So what to do then over these office stressors who seem to make your job more difficult than it already is?

We’ll cover that in a separate post giving specific tips to keep your sanity at work. For now, we just want you to think over the poem and share with us your experiences. How are you getting on with your work colleagues?
